Mission Statement:

Creation of an informed, motivated and confident electorate by seeking accuracy, efficiency and transparency of government.

The Institute is a not-for-profit organization that was formed by a group of Alachua County citizens, including educators, business men and women, attorneys, physicians and other professionals.  It is an organization of independent thinkers without political partisanship who seek to enlighten the electorate and to offer productive, practical solutions for current community issues.  Participating members volunteer their time, energy and expertise to produce policy papers, white papers and scholarly articles to complex problems that are shared with the public and elected officials. These documents are produced through in-depth research, communication with involved parties and discussions with local elected officials.

Since the core values of The Institute are non-partisan, The Institute seeks clarity and truth of current and future community problems though understanding the history and current economics and science that surrounds these issues. Accordingly, by understanding the pros and cons of complex issues The Institute is able to educate the public to the nuances and consequences of various problems. The electorate can then understand what is best for their family, community and state.

The ultimate goal is to produce positive public policy decisions from elected officials through informed, enlightened and engaged voters.
